AOB3 - Presentation feedback

My second presentation of my work to the client was very successful and resulting in both myself and the client being pleased with the final outcomes of my work. The client was extremely impressed with specific details such as the hand drawn and photoshopped type on my children's bedroom style poster. The way in which i had repeated the use of my small bone drawings for bullet-points in the special features box on my 'Where's Teddy?' DVD cover also stood out to the client. I received a distinction mark for my work which i was very happy with, although after reviewing my work again with the client, together we came up with some improvements. The client suggested that i should have the author's name on the book cover in a larger text, and the text on the back cover could be in a more interesting font. We also decided that i should make a bigger deal out of the charity aspect of the book, and include the Dogs Trust logo. Overall, myself and the client are very pleased with my work and my final presentation, however i have taken note of the improvements suggested for future reference.

Meeting feedback

My meeting with the client was successful and helpful in ways of gathering ideas for improving my designs for the promotion of the product. The client was pleased with my initial drafts, only to offer additional details for each design which i shall be taking forward over the next few weeks. Improvements for my 'Where's Teddy?' DVD cover design include turning the spine text which i have mistakenly placed the wrong way around, losing the widows on the blurb text and making the title on the front bigger. Ideas to add some orange elements onto the back cover have also arisen which i will be developing this week, along with creating more special features. The client suggested that the bedroom poster could be more of an educational poster, with either the alphabet or numbers for young children to learn. I also need to include some text stating that some of the proceeds of the poster will be donated to the Dogs Trust charity, along with some of the proceeds of the book, which i need to include on the book cover. The client also suggested that i need to add emphasis to the name of the author and illustrator on the book cover, by making this text bigger. I will take all of these suggestions and improvement ideas into consideration when creating my final versions of these promotional pieces.

AOB2 - Client meeting

"Having just met with the client, we have discussed in detail the ways in which we will promote and advertise the sale of the new children's book and film 'Where's Teddy?'. The client was strongly opinionated towards the book and DVD cover insert being relatively similar and simple as to keep recognition easy for the age of the target audience. Upon our first meeting, it was decided that other than the DVD and book cover, a bedroom/playroom style poster would be an appropriate piece of merchandise to accompany this story. It was also decided that the main characters would be featured on the covers and poster, but without hinting at the storyline too much. The client also asked for me to look at some similar examples to base my initial ideas on."
